Students from the three study programmes the MSc in Innovation Management and the MSc in Engineering (Technology Based Business Development) are associated a mentor company during their studies. Assignments, projects and problems, etc. which the student must work on are based on the mentor company’s challenges. In this way, the students are given the opportunity to try out theories on concrete problems and tasks and at the same time, the students will obtain good knowledge of a working day in a company.
Thus, the mentor solution will give the students a unique opportunity to confront theory with praxis and gain relevant work experience during their studies. In addition, the companies will have some of their tasks solved – tasks that would otherwise just gather dust.
The mentor solution is also an advantage to companies operating internationally. By entering into an agreement with a foreign full-time student (the language of instruction at all three study programmes is English, so there are also non-Danish students), the company will gain invaluable cultural competencies which can be used in the work with other countries and cultures, whether taking place domestically or abroad.
The result of the mentor solution is that many students make such a good impression that they are employed by the company when graduating.
The mentor solution at the MSc in Engineering (Technology Based Business Development)
Students at the MSc in Engineering (Technology Based Business Development) are associated a mentor company during the entire course of study. In cooperation with the mentor company, problem statements and tasks are developed within your academic subject area. Consequently, you will work on problems relevant to the company. At the same time, the education is future-proofed and internationally oriented in that the programme is research-based.
The teaching only takes place twice a week meaning that you can both study and work together with the mentor company.
The work is unpaid, but is it expected that the company will cover expenses for e.g. transport, paper, etc.
