I received the letter at the end of my summer holidays. I looked at the envelope for half a minute and thought of the years to come. Inside I found invitations, useful information and a booklist. Enjoying a nice cold coke, I read the papers over and over again. Just sitting there in my kitchen, waiting for the first day to arrive, I got butterflies in my stomach.
Suddenly, the alarm rang and my dad had come. Finally, I remember thinking. Today I start a new chapter. - And a good chapter, it seemed to be.
The first day at AU-HIH
Everybody was looking at each other. Studying what clothes people were wearing and what they looked like. I found a seat next to a girl, who was also attending the ICM study. We ended up on the same team.
The intro-weeks went by and I quickly got new friends. I learned the communication system of the university and how to operate it on my own. Somehow, I never got my password and login. Some technical problems, they claimed. But because of my curiosity and need to find out information about the classes and the school, I figured out the password and login myself. Just asking a bit around and using my smile, people were more than happy to help out.
It´s gonna be great - and hard work
My opinion of the university is nothing but positive. I went there with positivity and eager to learn and in return I am getting all that and more from both teachers and friends. From the first day I already loved being there. Now I´m just looking forward to the three years to come. No doubt, it will be a lot of hard work in the semesters to come, but everybody on my team agree on helping each other out when the tough times arrive .
