To enter the programme, a bachelor level in engineering or a technical bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 ECTS in business development or innovation is required. Otherwise, an intensive introduction course during the first month parallel to the study is offered.
Language requirements
All applicants must document English language qualifications comparable to an 'English B level' in the Danish upper secondary school ('high school'). English language qualifications comparable to an 'English B level' in Denmark can be documented as follows:
TOEFL test results of at least 560 (paper-based), 220 (computer-based test) or 83 (internet-based test). The Aarhus University TOEFL code is 8935.
IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.5 points
Cambridge/Oxford Certificate/Test in Advanced English
"C1 level" obtained by examination from a CEFR-validated English language course.
Passed entrance examination (upper secondary school/high school) or Bachelor’s degree taught in English
English language qualifications obtained through at least 210 hours of English lessons (1 hour = 60 minutes) in a non-Danish entrance examination.
You must ask your upper secondary school/high school to provide documentation for the total number of English lessons/hours you have received during your final three upper secondary/high school years. You are required to enclose a copy of your upper secondary/high school certificate, including course and examination descriptions of your English language course.
Application enclosures
The following documents must be enclosed with your application. The documents must be in English, German, Danish, Swedish or Norwegian. Translations of documents into one of these languages must always be made by an authorised translator.
1. Degree certificate/diploma showing examination subjects and results for each examination (a diploma without specific examination results is not sufficient).
2. Documentation of your English language qualifications.
3. Documentation of your citizenship (e.g. copy of your passport).
4. Documentation of your Danish residence permit.
The following documents may be enclosed with your application:
1. Academic regulations and course descriptions.
2. Book lists, lecture lists.
3. Curriculum vitae.
4. Any other relevant documents.
Important: Aarhus University only accepts certified copies. Certified copies require stamps and signatures as proof of their authenticity. Alternatively, you may ask two persons, who are not related to you, to sign the back of the copy, including their name, address and birth date, thereby confirming that the copy is in conformity with the original.
